Applicant must score:

30 points for COS (sponsorship certificate) and,10 points for maintenance (funds available). Tier 5 Visa's are granted between 12-24 months based on the subcategory being applied. Applicants must be over 18 years old at submission of application.

Tier 5 visa applicants must ensure they provide all the necessary supporting documents including maintenance at the time they submit the application. UKBA only accept documents as specified in their guidance notes. Tier 5 visa temporary workers, who don't provide the correct specified documents, will not be contacted by UKBA to ask for them. Therefore, if the Tier 5 visa temporary workers who fails to send the correct documents toUKBA or Foreign Office may refuse the Tier 5 Visa application. Documentation must be sent in original form as copies are not accepted. Documents that are not in English fully certified/ notarized translations must be accompanied with the original document.

The points awarded for sponsorship certificate

You will score 30 points for your sponsorship certificate.
Temporary workers issued sponsorship certifcates from their sponsors must guarantee that:

  • - Temporary workers will work directly and only for their sponsor;
  • - Temporary workers will not be paid or receive other payment for work, from 3rd parties unless they are reasonable expenses. and
  • - Temporary workers will not take a permanent position; and
  • - Temporary workers follow the conditions of your permission to stay and that you leave the United Kingdom when your leave runs out.

Applicants must ensure they provide all the necessary documentation at the time of submitting their application, and only accepted documents specified in UKBA guidance.
Applicants who fail to provide specified documentation; will not be contacted to request them. Therefore, applicants that fail to send the correct documents may be refused.
All documentation used as evidence must be the original (not a copy) unless UKBA specifically say otherwise.

Maintenance

You must have at least £800 in your account at all times over a 3 month qualifying period. The documents must be original, on official letter-headed paper or stationery of the organization and have their official stamp of the organization. Maintenance evidence must be in the form of cash funds. Other accounts or financial instruments like shares, bonds and pension funds, regardless of notice are not accepted as maintenance evidence. If you are relying on joint account statements as maintenance evidence, you must be named on the account along with one or more other named individuals.

Accepted evidence is:

  • - Personal bank or building society statements covering the three months before you apply
  • - Building society pass-book covering the previous three months before you apply
  • - Letter from bank confirming funds and that they have been in your account for at least three months
  • - Letter from financial institution regulated by either the Financial Services Authority or the home regulator confirming funds
  • - Your sponsor is confirming your maintenance

Your A-rated sponsor must provide a letter confirming they are prepared to meet the maintenance requirements of your application.
